Rev. W. Mattison King, Pastor

Matt began his ministry as Senior Pastor of Augusta Road Baptist Church on January 6, 2014. He is originally from Aiken, SC and spent much of his youth in Atlanta, GA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia and a Master of Divinity degree from the James and Carolyn McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. Before coming to Augusta Road Baptist Church, Matt served with Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, and Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth, GA. Matt met his wife, Lelia, while attending the University of Georgia. They have a six year old weimaraner named Murphy and live in the Augusta Road community.


Gary Romanstine, Interim Minister of Youth

Gary has been a member of Augusta Road for many years and has degrees from the University of Tennessee, Clemson University and the University of South Carolina. His passion for the past 25 years has been loving, mentoring and teaching God’s word to teenagers.






Barry Combs, Minister of Music

Barry has been with ARBC since 2001. With a doctorate in music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Barry’s true ministry is to help adult choir members develop and sharpen their musical skills as an offering back to God. In addition to serving at ARBC, Barry is the Director of Choral Activities at North Greenville College. He and his wife, Tracie, have two daughters, Samantha and Allison.

Jane Harrison, pianist

Jane has been the pianist at ARBC since 1996. She plays for all church services and also assists with weddings and funerals. Her music ministry is greatly appreciated and valued by all at Augusta Road Baptist Church. Jane and her husband, Walter, have two children; Timothy and Mary Beth.


Clinton Flowers, organist

Clinton is a graduate of Baylor University (Bachelor of Music), Southern Seminary (Bachelor and Master of Church Music). He is a retired Minister of Music/Organist having served churches in North and South Carolina. He is the former editor of Children’s Music for the Baptist Sunday School Board (now Lifeway). Specifically, Clinton was Editor of Young Musicians and The Children’s Choir Magazines and their related music products. He is the retired Conductor of The Transylvania Choral Society of Brevard, NC. He also served on the Baptist Hymnnal, 1991 committee.
